A.W. Miller was built around a straightforward idea: manufacturers gain an advantage when they have access to the right technology and the technical support to use it effectively. Early in the company’s history, founder Al Miller recognized that machine tool technology was changing quickly. Just a few years after starting the business, A.W. Miller became a Mazak distributor in Pennsylvania and New York. As the technology advanced, Al built a team of application engineers, service technicians, and sales engineers who could help manufacturers do more than simply select a machine. That combination of technology and technical expertise became a foundation for the company’s growth.
From its headquarters in East Aurora, New York, A.W. Miller expanded with a technical center in Harmony, Pennsylvania. Approximately 15 years later, the company established its Canadian presence with a technical center in Ville St. Laurent, Quebec. On April 1, 2023, A.W. Miller expanded its territory again to serve manufacturers throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Southern New Jersey. That growth included the addition of a technical center in Harleysville, Pennsylvania.
Today, A.W. Miller continues to evolve with the manufacturing industry. Its team works with manufacturers across the region to evaluate new technology, solve production challenges, improve existing processes, and support equipment throughout its working life.
The technology has changed considerably since A.W. Miller began. The principle behind the company has not: understand the application, provide the right technology, and have the technical expertise to support it.
